Visiting Tim's Family

On our way home from New Jersey we stopped in Clinton to visit Tim's family. Cameron had so much fun playing outside in Grandpa Dave's garden and just had fun seeing everyone.

Grandpa Dave and Aunt Audrey helped Cameron make a path through the jungle (the lilies)

Aunt Audrey showed Cameron some mint leaves, but he really didn't feel like smelling them

So cute walking through all the tall leaves. He thought it was so much fun!

Then he saw daddy up in the tree and wanted to join him...NOTE that was as high as they went :)

I couldn't get the camera to work right away, but he LOVED it

Grandpa Dave was so happy to see him

Cameron wanted to get in this pond and find some fishies

He also wanted to get in this canoe

Cameron liked what Aunt Audrey did with these rocks, but thought they needed a little adjustment

Grandpa Dave thought it would be fun to chase Cameron with an alligator. Cameron agreed

Saying goodbye before we left

New Jersey

This past weekend wee traveled to New Jersey for my step mom's family reunion. It was a lot of driving and very little sleeping for a few days, but lots of great memories. Cameron LOVED the pool at the party. He is such a great swimmer.

He didn't need...or want...any help

I LOVE the face he is giving Tim here

Down the slide and totally under water....and he loved it

Getting ready to go down the slide again

In the "hot" tub. It was the same temperature as the pool

A day at the Aquarium of NIagara

We have many membership passes, and one of them is to the Aquarium in Niagara Falls. Today our friends invited us to go along for a trip there. We had such a great time!! Since they are related to one of the employees we felt like VIPs. The first thing we did was look at some fish and then it was time to watch the sea lion show. For the first time we watched the show from above and it was so much fun! Cameron was mesmerized by the two sea lions and just stood there watching them for the whole show. After that we went to see a magic show. Since the magician knows their aunt we had seats reserved for us right in front. It was Cameron's first time seeing a magic show, and I have to admit I was a bit nervous that he wouldn't sit very well for it. Well, I worried for nothing! Cameron loved the magic show. He sat on my lap for most of it and then stood right in front of me for the rest. He was cheering the magician on and clapping after every trick. After the show, the magician came over and gave Cameron and his friend Gavin each a magic wand and he gave them a magic book too! After this we went and had lunch in the aunt's office. The boys were more interested in the phones and computer than eating, but we managed to sneak a few bites of food into them. After lunch we got a special showing of the touch tank. We were able to touch clam, oysters, star fish, lobsters, and crabs. Cameron was a bit nervous, but he still did it (and had a little extra fun splashing in the water) That room has carpeted stairs along the wall to act as bleachers and Cameron had more fun climbing on them than anything. Finally, as we were getting ready to leave, the aunt surprised us with a special present for each boy. An airplane and a truck! They loved them. This was definitely our favorite trip to the aquarium yet.  Here are a few pictures I managed to take today

Happy watching

The AMAZING Cameron lol

Cameron update

Cameron is now 21.5 months old. I cannot figure out where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday we were counting down the weeks until his arrival, and now we are counting down to his SECOND BIRTHDAY!!!

Stats:
At 21 months Cameron went through a growth spurt
He is sticking to his weight of 29lbs (where he has been for 10 months!) but he is now measuring in at 36 inches tall!

Cameron is picking up new words every day. He isn't stringing them together yet, and sometimes it still sounds like gibberish, but he is definitely trying to communicate with us! His new favorite thing to do is wrinkle up his nose, sniff and say "Smell" every time he smells something new.

He has been very good about going to bed and down for a nap. For a while he would fight wit us every day, but now he will just lay there quietly until he falls asleep. My favorite part is when out of nowhere he hugs or kisses me and says "night night" while he is trying to fall asleep.

Cameron has lost his interest in hugs and kisses for the most part. He is still the world's best snuggler, but he prefers to blow kisses or give high fives now.

Cameron gets so excited when his daddy gets home from work. He watches out the window and starts shrieking and jumping when he sees the car pull in the drive way. Then he runs over to the gate at the top of our stairs and waits for him yelling "Dada!" When Tim finally opens the door Cameron is overcome with joy and jumps around clapping and getting excited. I am pretty sure this is also Tim's favorite part of his day.

Cameron loves cleaning. Every time I am cleaning he wants to be right in there helping. He loves to sweep or use a sponge to clean the floors and he LOVES anything that involves the water being turned on.

Cameron is a great swimmer. He doesn't need our help at all, just some floaties and he is ready to go. He loves being in the water. Whether it is the tub, the pool or his sprinkler, Cameron is in heaven.

Cameron is a very polite boy. He says "please" "Excuse me" and although he can't say "thank you" or "you're welcome" he always says "mmhmmm" when you tell him "thank you"

I love every minute of being home with this little guy. Being Cameron's mom is the most exciting thing to ever happen to me, and I wouldn't trade it for a minute. <3
